Los Angeles CD4 councilmember David Ryu helps spark Back to the Streets Program for his community

Thanks to council-member David Ryu from CD4 in Los Angeles, the Back to the Streets program is getting a major boost. The council-member has approved a $500 match for each wall in his district funded and painted through beautifyearth.com.

The back to the streets program is helping to reignite and bring back life to main streets all over the US. It’s encouraging business owners to enlist their wall to turn them into inspirational art, additional sponsors to help where needed, and engaging local community to listen to all voices. It's truly a head to toe approach to making every wall beautiful.

Murals (in order) by Gino Flo, artist Even Mendel and Hans Haveron

Beautify and CD4 have a history of creating effective change together through art and murals, having brought much inspiration to neighborhoods in Los Angeles. One of our most memorable projects together was the great streets project. Through our work on Western Blvd in partnership with David Ryu and Mayor Garcetti, this project produced 10 murals and several utility boxes initiating street and community revitalization.

"This spark in Council District 4 will lead to many more beautified walls. We encourage everyone to look here for walls they can help beautify. When we brighten blighted walls, we improve neighborhoods. It's critical to have more business owners enlist their walls here to bring some much needed love and recognition to their establishment and their neighborhood."
Fourth District Councilmember David Ryu

Thank you Beautify for helping to make this city even more beautiful.

Eric Garcetti  |  Mayor, Los Angeles
