Blue Earth Street Art

A mural and street art program connecting people to underwater ecosystems and communities

Humboldt County, CA     Los Angeles, CA

Seattle, WA     Scotland, UK

Blue Earth is a collaborative initiative to create street art activations that connect people with nature and their community. We're bringing underwater worlds to the surface to develop awareness and education of the beauty, ecosystems, and impact of kelp forests.

This program evolved from a shared understanding between Beautify Earth, a community street art organization, and Blue Robotics, leaders in the marine technology sector, of the critical role kelp forests play in marine ecosystems and local cultures.

Each piece of artwork highlights and supports local kelp conservation, reforestation, and community programs with local partner organizations receiving 5% of donated funds.

Blue Earth Goals

Blue Earth's goal is to inspire communities to connect with nature and each other by working with local artists to transform cities into kelp forests with artwork that reflects their beauty and vibrant ecosystems.

The artwork will consist of both small human-scale street art along with large, full-coverage murals. All painted forests will be placed on a map to explore both digitally and in person. The painted forests will integrate into the built environment to emphasize their natural movement and beauty. The artwork will emphasize ecosystems as we recognize nothing thrives alone.

Access to public art and opportunities for discovery in the city

Public education and awareness of local marine initiatives

Raise funds for local kelp and marine initiatives

Encourage community activities through art and programming

We are looking for wall partners interested in supporting local artists and kelp forests by donating their wall for art.

Kelp will be the main focus of the art but may also contain ecosystem interactions with humans, animals, technology, or other organisms.

Donated walls become part of Beautify Earth’s community wall trust which is a collection of public walls dedicated to the benefit of the community and creative expression.

Partner Benefits

  • Locations added to street art map to encourage people to visit

Sponsors

This work would not be possible without business, city, NGO, and individual sponsors who take the initiative to invest in public art and marine ecosystems. Sponsoring a painted kelp forest supports the conservation and reforestation of local kelp forests through both financial and community support.

Blue Earth's street art initiatives drive community awareness and engagement by creating art that weaves naturally into the city landscape and emphasizes kelp’s beauty and vital role in ecosystems and culture.

Multiple levels of sponsorship are available starting from $2,500 or £2,000 with 5% of all donations going directly to local partners working on local conservation, reforestation, and community engagement efforts.

If sponsorship isn’t viable at the moment but you’d still like to contribute we welcome donations of all sizes.

Partner Benefits

  • Artwork added to digital art map with name included

  • Name written near artwork

  • Logo or name shared on website as sponsor

  • Connect with our street art and marine robotics communities

  • Sponsors promoted through Blue Earth media channels and partners

To become a sponsor email hello@beautifyearth.com
