This past Sunday I had the pleasure of participating in a Beautify Earth Community Paint Day at Bubble Beach, Main Street, Santa Monica. Along with over a hundred local participants we helped to raise a substantial amount to continue the beautification of previously overlooked walls that are in need of love and color.
Here is an early stage photo before the majority of the work took place in only six short hours on a sunny Sunday in Santa Monica.
Artist Karn Ashimyan outlined the paint by number sequence and directed painters where to put their focus. Karn prepped for this event a few days in advance and the crowds started rolling in shortly after 9:30 am. Many adults and children took part in the event after hearing about it via Facebook or being in the right place at the right time.
Here are additional photos of the progress and folks in action. There was also face painting and merchandise for sale at the event. Products are also available at the Beautify Earth store. Below is photo of the artist with his head adorned with a myriad of color!
Be sure to stay tuned for the next event and sign up for BE emails to be in the know! Visit BeautifyEarth.org for more details.
I will be heading back to Bubble Beach in a few days once the final touches on the wall are put in place by the artist known as Kar (as all detailing work was not completed on 2/21). I can’t wait to see and share the pics with you.
See you on the street!
